Before and After School

Before & After School during the Building Work—From Monday 12th September
Access to the Office:
There will be no access through the front entrance to the office as from the week commencing Monday 12th September. Please can you send all letters, slips etc. via your child’s bookbag or hand to the class teacher. If you need to speak to
someone in the office, please could you phone or e-mail wherever possible. If you do urgently need to access the office in the morning or after school, please go round to the double doors in the back playground (by the coat pegs) which will be unlocked at 8.45am and 3.10pm.
Access to the classrooms:
There are 3 possible routes:
ROUTE 1:   Enter the gate on Aldwickbury Crescent, walk across the junior playground and down the steps to the Infant
playground.  Reception parents will then need to walk across the infant playground then turn left at the end of the building
towards the Reception playground at the front.
ROUTE 2:  Enter the pedestrian gate on Crabtree Lane, walking along the path that runs alongside the car park. Turn right and walk towards the Junior building (past the bike sheds) then round to the left towards the junior playground. Walk down the steps to the Infant playground. Reception parents will then need to walk across the infant playground then turn left at the end of the building towards the Reception playground at the front.
ROUTE 3:  Enter the new pedestrian gate and walk along the path that runs alongside the hedge. Go through the gate that takes you into the Reception playpark, walking round the equipment and out the gate into the Reception playground. Walk across the Reception playground and turn right taking you towards the Infant playground.
WHEREVER POSSIBLE it would ease congestion if those parents who do not have buggies could follow routes 1 and 2.
PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THE CHILDREN TO PLAY ON THE PLAYPARK BEFORE OF AFTER SCHOOL.
Please allow for the fact that the Reception playground will be very busy with buggies coming through.
We will make any adaptations to these routes as necessary.

Induction Timetable

This year presents us with a particularly challenging induction process as we need to meet sixty new children at the beginning of the Autumn term. As we do not have the benefit of having our own Nursery from which the children are transferring, the children will be part of a staggered entry programme so that we can get to know the children and carry out some initial assessments.
I apologise for any inconvenience that this causes but I do hope you understand that our aim is to ensure that the children have the best possible start to their school life at Crabtree Infants. We have endeavoured to give you an appropriate amount of time to make the necessary arrangements. The school environment will make different demands on the children compared to their nursery experience and we have always found that a staggered entry programme is the most successful.

Crabtree Infants' School Uniform

On your first day at school please bring: book bag; PE bag; water bottle.  After the induction period bring your packed lunch box if you are not having a school meal. Please do not provide your child with a snack as this is supplied by the school.

You can decorate your bookbag so that you can see it more easily in the book bag box.

When it gets a bit wet please bring in a pair of named wellies.

Have a look at the Uniform Page on our website - link below
